The European Athletics U18 Championships continue into day 3 in Rieti, Italy today, with several Irish athletes returning to the track and field as the competition enters a crucial stage.
The morning session features Daniel Glennon in the 5000m race walk final, while Lucie Cawley and Ally Duffy contest the 2000m steeplechase final after progressing through their heats. Tara Rose Smith and Isabelle Gaffney also return for the women's 800m semi finals, with Kevin O'Shea beginning his campaign in the javelin qualification.
The evening session sees Daniel Downey and Arron Whelan aiming to book places in the men's 400m hurdles final, before Emma Hickey lines up in the women's 1500m final. Tara Laverty rounds off the Irish action in the women's discus final.
